Aniko Villalba | Biography

My name is Aniko, I'm 25 and I was born in Buenos Aires, Argentina. I am a writer, photographer and traveler, three labels I decide to give myself because they define what I do at this moment of my life. Text (TXT) and Image (TXT) are the two areas in which I work.

For those interested in official titles, then let me tell you that I have a degree in Mass Communication (Austral University, Argentina, 2004-2007, with Honorable Mention), a Diploma in Tourism and Mass Media(Interamerican School of Tourism of Medellin, Colombia, 2009, virtual course), more than ten years of English studies (Proficiency Exam), some photography and web design courses (the best being the autodidactic ones) and a very strong passion since the day I was born: writing.

For those of you who believe in dreams, then you should know that, ever since I can remember, my one and only dream has been to travel all around the world as a writer, as a photographer and as a curious human being. That, and publish books.

And for those who value actions amongst everything else, this is how I got to do what I do: after graduating from university I decide to travel as a backpacker around Latin America with the goal of seeing the world with my own eyes. During nine months I wrote travel articles and published my pictures in the blog "A Backpacker's Journal" for the Argentinian newspaper La Nación. Thanks to that blog I was dicovered by TIJE Travel, a hispanic travel agency which became my sponsor for future trips.

Since April 2010 I am traveling around Southeast Asia and I publish my articles and pictures in my blog: Viajando por ahí | Traveling Around. I am also a photographer for Getty Images Latin America and I write travel articles for several Argentinian magazines.

My objective is to continue working as a freelance writer and traveling around the world.

This site was fully designed and programmed by me. I am currently translating some of the texts from the "txt" section, and there are some articles which have been published in Spanish, so for the time being I cannot offer that material in English.
